Payment processing System

There are two ways of processing payments online. The first way is by integrating the payment system into your new website. Your customers browse your site, select the products they want to buy, and then fill out a secure payment form right on your website.

The second way is through a third-party payment processor such as Pay Pal. Your customers select items they want to buy on your website, just like they would with the integrated method. The difference is in the purchasing process. Instead of filling out their credit card information on your website, they click a button that directs them to a payment form on another site.

Which system should I choose?

Integrating the payment system into your website makes your company look much more professional. We recommend that if you plan on doing more than a few sales each month, you should integrate the payment system into your website.

Using a third-party payment processor is generally the easier, less expensive and a quicker system to set up. However, there are a couple of serious drawbacks. Once customers leave your website to make a payment they are less likely to complete the transaction, resulting in lost sales.

If you are starting out small, and/or don't have a merchant account already, we recommend that you start by using a third-party processor and then upgrade to an integrated payment system as you grow.

What do I need to do?

With a third party processor, you will need us to add a shopping cart to you site and to open a business bank account and an account with the third party processor like Pay Pal.

To integrate the payment system into your website, we add a shopping cart, connect to our secure server, SSL certificate and setup a gateway. You will need to open an internet merchant account and business bank account.

Once the shopping cart is activated on you site, you will receive order confirmations via email for fulfillment. Which ever you choose, Acuity will assist and guide you.
